Magda Fest offers a supportive environment where each Magda can find inspiration, guidance, showcase their films, connect with experienced mentors, and engage with enthusiastic audiences.

Through special screenings, insightful workshops, and personalized discussions, Magda Fest nurtures storytelling, builds confidence, and fosters a vibrant community tailored to the Magdas of filmmaking.

For this first edition, our programmers would like to see submissions based on at least one of the following themes.

Life teeters delicately between extremes. Show us your perspective on equilibrium—be it visual, emotional, societal, or abstract. Uncover harmony or celebrate imbalance; share your vision of what keeps the universe from toppling over.

Infrathin

The moment just before the coffee hits your tongue. The lingering warmth after a handshake. Inspired by Marcel Duchamp’s concept of the infrathin—celebrate the subtle, intangible beauty hidden in life’s nearly imperceptible transitions and sensations.

Echoes of the Land

Landscapes whisper stories. Whether real or imagined, emotional or physical, share a cinematic reflection of places that haunt, heal, or hold secrets. How does the land speak through memory, longing, and imagination?

Here are some constraints to keep in mind.

Technical Guidelines

  • Length: 5 – 7 minutes (including titles & credits)
  • Resolution: At least Full HD
  • Language: Films in languages other than English should include subtitles.
  • Production Date: Must be produced within the months of March or April, 2025
  • Archival footage and sound may be used and must be credited.
  • Birth certificate must read: Magda.
